Each woman is entered into the group that most expresses their profession or avocation. It may not have been the group that they would have chosen for themselves but it is where they are perhaps best known. There are 4,236 names appear alphabetically in each group. Two groups, heroines and pioneers, are not necessarily "jobs" but they are apt descriptions of achievements of the women listed. Please note that in the case of our lady politicians, particularly our senators, they are listed as politicians and this in no way should overshadow their achievements in their chosen fields of endeavors which brought them to be eligible for appointment to the Canadian government.
