This list is growing all the time. My goal is to have at least one name
for each day of the year! There are now only
11
days left without any names!

I
have gone through the Canadian Encyclopedia, consulted the Canadian
Who's Who, searched the internet, watched the newspaper and checked
out biographical books from the local library! I have worked my way through
the 15 volumes of the Dictionary of Canadian Biography and
consulted the single volume of the Macmillan Dictionary of Canadian
Biography (Toronto, 1978).
Names
may not be included simply because there is no record of a birthday, as
in the case of some of our early notable women. Other times, especially
when there are already several names for a certain date, I choose not
to include yet another name. You might be surprised at how many do not
have known birthdates or by how many are born on the same day as several
other women of achievement!
I
would like to thank all those who have taken time to contact me and tell
me about errors that they have spotted. I am my own worst editor! I really
do appreciate it when people do spot errors so that I may make corrections.
I do not wish to provide false information.
